The Saharan Palette by Juvia's place Review

I am going to guess that you have already seen swatches of this palette, and I won't be including any here because they do swatch really well, but that doesn't mean they perform well. Currently I am going back and forth on regretting purchasing this.

Ingredients are on the box and not on the palette itself 

Texture: The shimmery shadows are very greasy and they feel greasy on my lids and leave greasy residue on my brushes. This means I can't dip the brushes into other shades at all, as in if I'm putting another shade on a shimmer already on my lid there will be greasy residue on my brush...leading to hard pan on all my other shadows.....The mattes are much nicer and much less greasy feeling. The shimmers kick up a fair amount and produce significant fall out, being as they are pigmented it's difficult to clean the fall out off. The greasy texture also leads to hard pan on the shimmery shadows themselves, which can be seen in the picture below. The shimmers also don't foil well on the eye because they don't spread well enough on the delicate skin of the eyelid (vs swatches on the hands)

This is a very sad pan :( After the hard pan developed I tried to remove it which led to its current state. Currently barely any pigment comes off when I use my finger to apply. 

Pigmentation: These are well pigmented, but they don't come across well on the eye, the texture of them makes them look thick and not the same smooth glossy shimmery finish that I prefer, which is why I had to use Lorac luster drops to achieve the look below.

Blending: The mattes blend very easily. The shimmers like to stick to where you put them due to greasy texture. 

Lasting power: Things don't crease on my eyes normally, with primer there is some gathering around the crease with these shadows, but no overt creasing, I wonder how they will hold up on someone with oily lids.

The lid color is actually the Lorac Luster drops in Rose Quarts ontop of the Fula from saharan because the color by itself was rather lack luster. The crease is Sokoto blended out with Jamila and with a bit of my project pan brown in my lancome quad deepening the crease. KVD alchemist palette in Opal in the inner corner. 

Final thoughts:

I personally am let down by these. I have other eyeshadows that I love with mineral oil in the formulation but these are a whole new level of oily. And what is disheartening is that all the reviews of these I had seen had been positive, even from trusted bloggers, so I'm guessing that I just have a preference for smooth and drier formulas. For now though I will be using these cautiously with quarantined brushes.  But at least there is that beautiful packaging (stained with dark shadows that don't wipe off) that I can enjoy on my shelf.
