Review and swatches of Kat Von D Pastel Goth palette

This sold out a while ago but Sephora has restocked it. It retails for $38, comes in sturdy cardboard packaging encasing 8 eye shadows at 1.7g/0.06 oz each and made in the USA.

The ingredients are only on the side of the box and not on the palette itself.

Finger swatches without primer, one swipe on inner arm

Texture: These shadows are very dry and borderline chalky ( I would never use them wet) and dusty and have a noticeable amount of kickback when I dip my brush into them. They have to be built up on the lid and they will accentuate any texture your eyelids may have ( and I have a lot!)
Pigmentation: These are not overtly impressive, people have mentioned that they are good for pastels but I'd argue most of them aren't actually pastel to begin with, the only two that function as such is clementine and meow. Otherwise they are either too bright[star and doom] or too dusky[gloom, dope, and dagger]. They are however workable and work well with a white base.
Blending: These blend very easily into each other sadly though you can blend them away to nothingness if you overly blend them.
Lasting power: With primer these did last on me all day, however they do lose their intensity pretty quickly, so what I ended up with was a duller looking version of the original look.

I used only brushes for this with Urban Decay primer potion and NYX jumbo pencil in milk. On the upper lid I'm using only the pastel goth palette with the yellow [star] on the inner brow bone and the white [skull] on the outer brow bone, the orange cream [clementine] blended out above the crease and the purple [meow] on the lid. I blended out the lower lash line using a minty blue color from the BH cosmetics Take me to Brazil palette. I also have clementine on the waterline over nyx jumbo pencil in milk.
I didn't use just pastel goth for this look mostly because I don't think the blue and the green lend themselves to a pastel eye makeup,(if you'd like to see how the blue and green perform I did wear them in another look featured here).

 Final thoughts
Is this worth it? It depends and I think the main indicator of your enjoyment of this palette is your skintone, I'm somewhere between light to medium skintone but with a pretty strong yellow undertone, and these shades make me look extra yellow. If you have pale skin with cool undertones I think you would enjoy this palette much more than I. That being said I'm getting some good use out of this pretty guy, and I think if you love color eyeshadow looks then so would you.
